Finance Director

£80,000 to £100,000 plus Benefits

ABPM are working exclusively with a successful SME who have a definable quality and purpose to their activities in the consumer goods markets. Operating a blended service across design, service, manufacture, warehousing and e-commerce, they meet the needs of the customers with an agility and commitment that is second to none. With the evolution of the business, they now seek to appoint a Finance Director who will complement the existing experienced management team and lead the professional finance function that is in place.

At a high level, you will work as part of the management team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements and customer deliverables. Thereby operating collaboratively, negotiating, and engaging with key managers to facilitate delivery and compliance with department strategy.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

• Oversee the day to day running of the finance team.
• Preparation of management accounts on a timely basis.
• Responsible for ensuring all financial reporting requirements are accomplished.
• Responsible for reporting gross profit margins, and variance analysis.
• Identifying key trends to support planning and decision-making.
• Manage the stock process from the finance perspective.
• Maintenance of a strong financial control environment.
• Identifying and rolling out system and process enhancements.
• Support the Directors in business administration and ad-hoc duties.
• Perform other reasonably related duties, analysis and special projects as assigned.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience of operating in a SME business.

Possessing strong 'management accounting / control' background and confident in participation on or supporting a board / executive team.

Currently, a Financial Controller / Head of Finance or similar, leading a finance team in a similar sized or smaller business.
