We are looking for a meticulous and highly knowledgeable Specification Technologist who has previous experience working in the Food Manufacturing industry. This role focuses on creating accurate, legally compliant internal and external customer specifications that meet customer-specific standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and maintain product specifications for internal and external customers, ensuring all details are accurate, legally compliant, and meet customer requirements
  • Ensure specifications are thoroughly documented to support the creation of compliant artwork and packaging materials
  • Ensure specifications comply with BRC standards and meet customer-specific compliance standards
  • Excellent understanding of customer codes of practice, legal guidelines for packaging, and export ingredients to ensure specifications are accurate and up to date
  • Review and update specifications with more frequent reviews as required by specific customer agreements
  • Maintain documentation that meets both legal and quality assurance standards, ensuring all specifications are accurate and legally compliant
  • Minimise the need for costly amends by creating accurate and compliant specifications from the outset

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in a Food Manufacturing environment, in a similar role.
  • Thorough understanding of BRC standards, as well as legal and customer requirements for packaging and ingredients
  • Familiarity with nutritional information requirements and declaration practices
  • Knowledge of regulatory codes of practice, particularly for export ingredients and customer-specific requirements
