About The Role

As an Internal Sales Engineer / Tender Engineer / Quotations Engineer / Proposals Engineer, you will initially operate from my client’s office in the Shepshed / Loughborough area of Leicestershire before moving to a 2-day home / 3-days office arrangement, once fully operational.

After the completion of your induction and product training you will be responsible for:

  • Handling of incoming customer technical and commercial enquires.
  • Handling RFQ’s (request for quotation) via phone & email.
  • Reviewing customer requirements and advising on potential solutions.
  • Preparing quotations and proposals.
  • Securing and completing orders.
  • Developing relationships with existing company clients. 
  • Liaising with company production facilities and external suppliers regarding component availability.
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date CRM.
  • Follow up on outstanding quotations.
  • Reviewing technical engineers drawings – training given
  • Advising clients on availability and delivery schedule.

My client encourage the opportunity to meet with your key customers alongside the external sales team and in the future alone as you become more established in the role.  Although this is only a small element of the position and not an essential task, it does allow individuals to gain external face to face client interaction experience should it be desired.

About You

It is essential you possess some basic Mechanical or Electrical Engineering knowledge, be it from completing a similar post or from operating as an Engineer.

Engineering or related technical qualifications would be an advantage, but not essential.

To fit this profile, you will be an ambitious individual with great communication skills and the ability to retain technical information. Due to the nature of the role, it’s also essential you have strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.

Other key skills include:

  • Competent use of Microsoft Office, Outlook & CRM systems.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Comfortable building & maintaining trusting relationships with customers.
  • Organised with a desire to learn.
