Term-Time Room Leader

It is my pleasure to announce that we are working on behalf of a quality day Nursery based near Leicester. This stimulating and caring environment are looking for an experienced TERM-TIME ROOM LEADER to lead the practice in their Toddler Room.

The successful applicant must have a minimum Level 3 Early Years Qualification or equivalent, and be of real quality and have a true passion for childcare. As well as having experience in a lead role and true understanding that each child is unique and therefore strive to ensure each child reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads on the planning of activities which meet children's needs and are built around their interests. Ensures that planning is implemented across the nursery.
  • Ensures that children are cared for to the highest standards.
  • Observes and assesses children's progress and leads on this across the preschool.
  • Ensures that health and safety requirements are followed, reporting any concerns and maintaining safety for children in all areas.
  • Understands safeguarding responsibilities and duties. Reports concerns to the manager and Children's Services as appropriate.
  • Is a good role model for staff. Leads practice and supports the professional development of other staff.
  • Promotes learning through the curiosity approach. Ensuring the continued development of the environment and resources which are natural, open-ended and which foster curiosity, awe and wonder.
  • Supports staff in meeting the needs of children with special needs and/or disabilities.
  • Supporting all assistants as they learn while working, helping them to develop their skills.
