The role involves supporting students with special educational needs, covering classes in the absence of the SENCO teacher, and ensuring a positive learning environment that encourages student progress. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide cover for SENCO teachers, managing and supporting students with varying needs.
* Deliver lesson plans and resources to engage students and promote inclusive learning.
* Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment, promoting positive behaviour.
* Adapt teaching methods to cater to the individual needs of students.
* Collaborate with teaching staff to support students' individual education plans (IEPs).
* Monitor and report on student progress, contributing to student assessments.
Requirements:
* Experience in a classroom or educational setting (experience with SEN preferred).
* Strong understanding of SEN strategies and the ability to support diverse learning needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Flexibility, patience, and adaptability.
* Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Degree or relevant qualification in education, psychology, or a related field.
* Additional qualifications related to SEN or classroom management are a plus.
