Are you an experienced teaching assistant looking for a new challenge in education?

Long Term Futures is currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join one of our client alternative provisions in Loughborough.

As a teaching assistant in a specialist setting, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. You will work closely with a diverse group of students, adapting your approach to meet individual needs and promoting engagement through creative and alternative teaching methods.



Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the teacher to provide an alternative and engaging approach for students with SEN needs, including ASD & ADHD.
  • Set targets for students and monitor their progress.
  • Ensure every student can access learning and achieve their full potential.
  • Support students through any challenges they face and help find appropriate solutions.


The Ideal Candidate

  • Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour.
  • Has an outgoing and nurturing personality.
  • Interested in starting a career in education.
  • Willing to support SEMH learners.
  • A reliable and friendly presence for both students and staff.


To Be Eligible for This Role, You Must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Have an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate, registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
  • Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
