Are you an experienced teaching assistant with a background in supporting young people with autism and challenging behaviours? Would you like to support young people with social, emotional and mental health needs?

Long-term futures are excited to work with a Loughborough (LE12) based specialist therapeutic school. This school support children and young people with autism and social, emotional & mental health needs.

In this role, you will motivate and encourage students by providing individual attention, reassurance and help with their living and learning tasks.

What will my role entail?

  • Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff.
  • Supporting pupils with varying needs, including autism & social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Establish supportive relationships and trust with pupils.

Sounds good, what do I need?

  • You'll need at least a GCSE or Functional Skills Level 2 in English & Maths
  • You will be someone that is passionate for supporting children and young people, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Ideally, you'll hold an HLTA qualification, or a certification such as the level 2 understanding autism.
