Premier Engineering is working with an established engineering company in Loughborough. They are looking to expand their design team by hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on a range of exciting projects, including special-purpose machinery and bespoke engineering solutions.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, etc.).
- Strong experience in mechanical design, ideally within machinery or manufacturing industries.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, fabrication, and assembly.
- Experience with engineering drawings and creating Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Designing and developing mechanical systems and components for various engineering projects.
- Creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Generating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production and quality assurance.
- Conducting design reviews, testing, and validation of prototypes and finished products.
- Identifying opportunities for design improvements to enhance performance and cost efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
