They are looking to expand their design team by hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on a range of exciting projects, including special-purpose machinery and bespoke engineering solutions.The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, etc.).
  • Strong experience in mechanical design, ideally within machinery or manufacturing industries.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Experience with engineering drawings and creating Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
  • Designing and developing mechanical systems and components for various engineering projects.
  • Creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
  • Generating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production and quality assurance.
  • Conducting design reviews, testing, and validation of prototypes and finished products.
  • Identifying opportunities for design improvements to enhance performance and cost efficiency.
