The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all projects from concept to completion. The role requires flexibility, as the workload will vary between large, small, fast and slow turnaround projects. You will manage timelines, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, ensuring smooth communication and handling any queries or concerns.
- Organise and oversee the logistics of equipment and components to site
- Lead cross-functional teams, including external subcontractors, offshore freelancers, and suppliers, to achieve project milestones. You will hold subcontractors accountable to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle. Be proactive in resolving any issues that arise to avoid project delays or overspending.
- Oversee the supply chain, coordinate with fabricators and installers for projects, ensuring smooth delivery and installation during peak times especially school holidays.
- Assist in project estimation and design. Training will be given in these areas to develop your technical skills over time.
- This role requires a "roll up your sleeves" attitude, as the company is small and dynamic. You must be prepared to step in wherever needed to ensure project success.
Requirements / Person Specification / Experience / Qualifications / Knowledge
- Proven experience in project management
- Strong leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills, with a track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- A customer-first approach, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage stressful situations effectively.
- Full clean driving license and ability to drive a van and trailer when required.
- Willingness to travel (overnight stays may be required).
- Availability to work during school holidays.
- Proficient in the use of I.T. software (e.g. MS Outlook, Word & Excel)
- Technical aptitude, with a willingness to learn CAD drawing and estimation tools.
Desirable:
- Experience in steel fabrication, fencing, gates, or prefabricated buildings would be an advantage but is not essential.
