Finance Support Officer 

Salary: £23,700 - £27,181

Location: LE11 - Hybrid

Overview:

The Finance Support Officer handles transaction processing, customer service, and compliance with financial regulations. This role supports both commercial and student accounts, manages debts, and processes supplier payments.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable (Primary):

- Manage commercial and student debt ledgers, including invoicing, credit control, and account maintenance.

- Serve as the primary contact for commercial partners and students, addressing queries and providing guidance.

- Administer student financial records and manage debt in line with policy.

Accounts Payable:

- Process supplier invoices, match them to purchase orders, and handle supplier queries.

- Manage expense claims, purchasing cards, and supplier payments.

General Administration:

- Maintain performance reports, monitor finance email accounts, and manage online payment platforms.

- Provide cross-departmental support, handling inquiries and general clerical duties.

Compliance and Training:

- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures and participate in ongoing training.

The salary is based on the extent to which the following criteria are met:

- Experience in a busy finance and customer-focused environment.

- Strong record-keeping and IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

- Ability to work independently, under pressure, and meet deadlines.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

- High attention to detail and the ability to manage and interpret complex data.

- Adaptability, flexibility, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work within a confidential environment.

- Excellent customer service skills.

- Experience in Higher Education and knowledge of relevant softwares and legislation (e.g., Data Protection Act).

- A fundamental understanding of business process improvement.
