Location: Leicestershire, Loughborough/Stoney Stanton

Salary: Dependent upon level of experience

Inizio Engage are working on behalf of their client who are seeking a Transport Planner to work at their Stoney Stanton or Loughborough depot. This is an extremely busy role as you will be responsible for providing the highest levels of customer service within the truck rental industry.

The role:

You will be responsible for looking after all trucks that are bought into the depot for servicing, MOTs, repairs etc by our client’s customers, the client has 3 depots locally which hold the large rental fleet. The challenge for this role is ensuring promises of delivery to the customer deadlines are met consistently and to a high standard of care. Whilst this role is not a management position it would require you to be responsible for driving these deadlines with the drivers of the trucks so a background within team leading or previous management capabilities would be essential for this role.

Duties will include:

  • Proactive negotiating with customers and providing them with a solution around their truck rental requests
  • Negotiating with third party suppliers
  • Effectively mange the driver checkers in a positive, can-do manner, ensuring all aspects of HGV driving legislations are recorded and adhered to
  • Managing vehicle movements effectively
  • Ensuring all vehicles are in ready to rent condition, ensuring rental agreements are signed correctly
  • Monitor and report on all vehicles off the road
  • Working closely with the fleet department and the workshop to plan maintenance both scheduled and unscheduled
  • Ensure that the fuel tank holds adequate stock at all times

Experience required:

  • Previous commercial vehicle background ideally in a rental environment
  • Excellent relationship skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and within a pressurised environment
  • Motivational, driven and with excellent team building skills
  • A team player with a strong customer service culture
  • Reporting experience with KPIs and in structured meetings
