We are looking for a Senior Supervisor to join our waste disposal company and play a key role in the daily management of operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will supervise a team of drivers and operational staff, ensuring efficient service delivery and compliance with industry standards. This position is ideal for someone with experience in the waste trade who is ready to take on a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Supervision: Manage and coordinate the activities of drivers and operational staff, ensuring schedules and tasks are completed effectively.
  • Operational Oversight: Assist in planning and optimising daily routes for a fleet of 13 vehicles to ensure timely and cost-efficient services.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure team adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on team performance, identifying training needs and areas for improvement.
  • Issue Resolution: Handle on-the-ground challenges such as service delays, vehicle breakdowns, and customer concerns in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Training and Development: Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Operations Manager on operational performance, challenges, and improvements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in the waste trade, with a strong understanding of industry operations and regulations.
  • Previous supervisory experience in logistics, waste management, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address operational challenges.
  • Proficiency in basic IT systems and software for reporting and communication purposes.
