An opportunity has arisen for a skilled Maintenance Manager to join a forward-thinking engineering team. This role is ideal for a strong leader with a background in electrical maintenance and a commitment to Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards. You will play a key role in ensuring operational reliability, driving efficiency, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
The Role:
- Support the Engineering Manager in daily operations and deputise in their absence.
- Manage and control maintenance budgets effectively.
- Oversee and allocate electrical and mechanical workloads to ensure smooth department operations.
- Plan and coordinate routine and major maintenance shutdowns.
- Ensure maintenance resources are prioritised to meet operational requirements.
- Drive performance improvements in Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and work order completion rates.
- Lead safety and mini-improvement projects during planned plant stoppages.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance, working towards a zero-harm environment.
- Provide technical direction, mentorship, and leadership to the engineering team.
About You:
- Apprentice-trained in a relevant trade with an engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledge, including fault diagnosis and repair.
- Familiarity with TPM and PPM systems.
- Experience with Siemens and Allen Bradley systems.
- Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Access.
- Ability to lead under pressure and drive improvements in team performance and safety culture.
