This role involves welding and repairing crash damage and corrosion on freight locomotives, focusing on the repair and overhaul of rolling stock sections.Key Responsibilities:* Cutting out, grinding, and stripping corroded material.* Refitting and joining new sections using MIG welding (3mm to 30mm mild steel).* Welding in various positions, including Vertical Up and Overhead.* Supporting production and repair of passenger carriages and rolling stock.* Replacing solebars, internal supporting columns, and floor refurbishments.Candidate Requirements:MIG Welding experience - particularly in Vertical Up & Overhead positions.Proven experience working with mild steel (3mm - 30mm).NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication/Welding (or equivalent).Own tools and PPE, including air-fed mask, fireproof overalls, and grinder.Background in Plant/Equipment repair, Quarry, or Heavy Machine refurbishment is advantageous.Weld Test:Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a weld test as part of the selection process.If you have the required skills and experience, apply today to join a dynamic and growing team! ????For more information about this role and how to apply please email your CV to or call for an informal conversation
