The school is a vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school in Waltham Forest, seeking a dedicated and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their supportive team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain on task and are engaged throughout the lesson.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.
- Provide support and assistance to students, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour, following the school's policies and procedures.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans as directed by the teacher and monitor student progress.
- Report any issues or concerns to the relevant staff members.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning for all students.
- Ensure students remain on task and engaged throughout the lesson.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and staff as required.
- Follow the school’s health and safety policies and ensure a safe environment for all students.
- Take responsibility for student welfare and support during lessons.
About You:
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage student behaviour effectively.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to work independently.
- A passion for supporting young people and helping them achieve their potential.
- A good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
- A positive attitude towards learning and student development.
