About theSEND Learning Support AssistantRole:
Youll be working in a school that caters to pupils with severe and complex learning needs. The school provides a bespoke curriculum tailored to each pupils immediate learning needs and long-term aspirations. The focus is on removing barriers to engagement and learning, with significant emphasis on functional communication, emotional regulation, and sensory integration.
SEND Learning Support AssistantKey Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- Assist teachers in delivering individualized learning activities
- Manage behavior and create a supportive learning environment
- Encourage emotional and social development
- Collaborate with a range of therapists to support holistic development
SEND Learning Support AssistantRequirements:
- Experience working with children with SEN
- A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Relevant qualifications or experience in SEN education (preferred)
