The Massingberd-Mundy Gin Distillery was established in 2019 and began sales in 2020. South Ormsby Estate has been consistently nominated at the Lincolnshire Life Magazine Taste of Excellence awards, winning best drinks product' in 2021 and 2023.

Gin Distillery Operator and Brand Ambassador - The Role:

The Gin Distillery Operator and Brand Ambassador will be required to run and manage the well-established distillery for South Ormsby Estate. This will include updating the recipes of Massingberd-Mundy's existing range of award-winning gins.

The ideal candidate will also become one of the faces of Massingberd-Mundy, both in person and online, representing both Massingberd-Mundy and South Ormsby Estate at business events, networking opportunities, onsite events such as gin tastings. They will also be expected to both produce and feature in regular social media content.

Part of the role will be to maintain the registration of various licenses to produce and sell the gin, and to obtain any personal licences. A knowledge of marketing and selling of the gin will be needed to promote our gin to make it the best tasting product that we possibly can, from the finest locally sourced ingredients.

Gin Distillery Operator and Brand Ambassador - Key Responsibilities:

- Produce and expand the Massingberd-Mundy range of gins spirits

- Successfully market and sell the product

- Product development of special edition flavours, in addition to updating the current range of flavours

- Development of other on trend spirits such as English Whisky etc

- Management of all aspects of production including scheduling, raw material purchasing and stock control, distillery and operations and cleaning, managing the dispatch of stock and control of inventory, data and monitoring

- Bottling and packaging

- Maintenance of distillery equipment and instrumentation including water treatment servicing, cleaning filters, cleaning probes, etc to ensure accuracy

- Organisation of product tastings and other promotional events such as attending food and drink festivals and talking at various groups

- Organisation of social media events such as live tastings and product launches, in addition to regular social media content creation

- Work with the Commercial Manager to stock our existing wholesale customers

- Obtain personal licences needed to produce and sell the gin

Gin Distillery Operator and Brand Ambassador - You:

- Food/drink safety/handling certificate

- Gin distillery knowledge

- Knowledge of health, safety and hygiene requirements in production of gin

- Have a driving licence - Ideally a category C1 driving licence, or a willingness to obtain this higher category entitlement within 3 months of acceptance of the role

- Experience of working in a distillery

- Able to sell and market products

- Personal licence to sell alcohol (or a willingness to obtain this licence within 3 months of acceptance of the role)

- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite and aptitude with computer-based record keeping and stock management

- Shows attention to detail in all aspects of their work and commitment to excellence

- Ability to interpret, understand, document and apply processes and procedures

- You work well in small, close-knit teams

- Can work with initiative, and are accountable for your work performance

- Comfortable presenting and speaking about your work, both on camera and off

- Genuine love of the gin distilling process (and all things booze related!!)
