Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant

Leading professional services organisation is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to work within a small established team reporting into the management team.

Role:
  • You will accurately oversee the companys financial transactions, develop budgets/forecasts, prepare financial reports, and monitor all transactions.
  • A team player, positive with a can-do attitude. You will be able to articulate financial data to a varied audience.
  • You will be able to work on your own initiative, provide feedback, solutions to issue and write financial protocols and procedures.
  • Your duties will include resolving financial disputes, supporting executives, preparing balance sheets, and processing invoices.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate transaction records
  • Review/Approve/Process invoices/timesheets and prepare financial statements
  • Reconcile banking and conduct financial audits
  • Prepare budgets
  • Review the businesss financial policies
  • Ensure all legal requirements are met
  • Payroll production
  • To be a point of contact for various stakeholders such as suppliers/accountants/employees
  • To file for the accountants, such as, tax returns, companies house, HMRC and end of year financial reports
  • To complete any adhoc duties required as requested by the senior management team
Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with software such as Xero or Sage, training will be provided for their operational systems
  • Maths and problem-solving skills
  • Project management skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Good knowledge of accounting and financial procedures
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and laws
  • Proven work experience as an Accounts or Finance Assistant.
  • BSc or AAT Level 2
  • Professional qualification as a CFA/CPA highly desirable but not essential
