Machine Operator

Location: Spalding
Pay: 11.44 per hour whilst training, increasing to 12.94 per hour once fully trained
Hours: Continental shift (6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, days only)
Contract: Temp-to-perm

About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our client's team in Spalding. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking long-term, stable employment with potential for permanent placement.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct daily machinery checks to ensure it is clean, safe, and ready for operation.
* Complete all necessary traceability documentation, including start-up checks.
* Set and monitor machinery to ensure it operates according to technical specifications, using the correct packaging and labels.
* Ensure an adequate supply of packaging to minimise downtime during changeovers.
* Troubleshoot minor machine issues and escalate serious faults to the Engineering team promptly.
* Follow all organic procedures and ensure only qualified staff operate machinery.
* Support general line duties, such as packing, stacking, or loading, when required.
* Collaborate with the Line Leader to address staffing, stock, and delay-related issues.
* Promote Health & Safety, hygiene, and environmental best practices.
* Identify areas for improvement and share ideas with relevant staff, using techniques like 5S and root cause analysis.

Requirements:
