The School and Role

An Alternative Provision school based in Christchurch are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to start with them from January. The school caters for primary and secondary aged pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as challenging behaviour.  

The successful SEMH Support Assistant will be required to work 1-1 or in small classes, assisting pupils academically as well as overcoming barriers to learning and supporting them emotionally.

The desired Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience of working with children in an educational setting
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEND/SEMH/challenging behaviour
  • A passion for the progress of pupils
  • An ability to work as part of a team
