SALARY: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

LOCATION: Lowestoft, Suffolk

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: The successful candidate will work 37.5hrs per week, Monday-Friday, 8.30-17:00. There will also be a requirement for the successful candidate to work some overtime at very short notice to meet tight deadlines.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Studio Technician / Artworker / Pre-Press who has experience using Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign with excellent organisation, time-management and communication skills.

Working as a Studio Technician / Artworker / Pre-Press you will need to be conversant with industry standard desktop publishing software in order to prepare artwork for various projects ranging from presentation sales aids to large format digital graphics.

As a Studio Technician / Artworker / Pre-Press you will have a good understanding of technical drawings, site surveys and conversion to bill of manufacture and the ability to prepare artwork utilising various software packages.

DUTIES

Your duties as Studio Technician / Artworker / Pre-Press will include:

  • Prepare artwork utilising software packages in studio; Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Workflow Management and ERP (Shuttleworth)
  • An understanding of technical drawings, site surveys and conversion to bill of manufacture
  • Restoring artwork from archives and making available for production departments
  • Creating and processing job sheets via ERP System (Shuttleworth)
  • Prioritizing new and repeat work, releasing to production following agreed production planning
  • Calculating material usage / requirement
  • Maintain and update computerised records
  • Ensure efficient use of equipment, raw materials and Studio consumables
  • Occasional offsite visits for meetings with clients and site surveys for projects Including architectural and fleet graphics
  • Undertake training and develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills
  • Report to the Studio Manager any relevant issues and provide information as required

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Conversant with industry standard desktop publishing software
  • Previous experience working in a similar role
  • Valid UK Driving Licence preferred
  • Technical skills relevant to specific projects
  • IT proficiency
  • Although not all items are absolute requirements and provision for training will be provided, A wide knowledge base of the following is an advantage:
    • Adobe Suite, Office 365 and ERP (Shuttleworth)
    • Colour Management
    • Javascript / Applescript
  • Attention to detail and retention of information
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation and information management
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving
  • Excellent listening and questioning skills combined with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to work well in a team and individually
  • An understanding of Workflow Automation and experience in a similar role would be desirable
