Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to play your part in the global energy transition. Our client is a leading provider of strategic market intelligence and consulting services to the flourishing offshore renewable energy and subsea power cables sectors. They create value for customers by providing them with the market knowledge and insights needed for tactical and strategic decision making.

Their clients include established market players and pioneering new entrants from across the entire value-chain. The company produces a successful mix of high-quality subscriptions comprising quarterly reports, databases, webinars, online-tools and customer support to a growing client-base.

Bespoke customer requirements are serviced by the Market Consulting team who deliver fast turnaround, high quality, detailed and actionable market reports. The reports provide valuable input to the client’s strategic decision-making processes. Clients include offshore wind developers, supply chain, government, and investors. Example studies include supply and demand analysis, supply chain assessments, regulatory appraisals, competitor analysis and opportunity identification.

About You

  • You hold at least an undergraduate degree in a technical or numeric discipline (or equivalent) from a leading institution. Post-graduate study will be well regarded.
  • You have at least 3 years of relevant experience from engineering, operations, research, strategy or consulting.
  • You have detailed knowledge of the offshore wind industry and energy markets.
  • You have been successful in securing business through effective client engagement and proposal writing.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to manage projects, including the work of colleagues, and deliver quality whilst under pressure.
  • You have the skills to clearly articulate and communicate complex concepts, both verbally and in written form.
  • You are a confident communicator who is keen to get to the bottom of a problem by engaging with people face-to-face.
  • You have strong numerical skills, statistical knowledge, and are comfortable performing analysis and forecasting in MS Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Meet revenue targets for consulting services by effectively communicating capabilities and assets to potential clients, securing and delivering work.
  • Work with potential clients to understand their requirements and provide them with straightforward proposals.
  • Liaise with the Sales Manager and the Director of Research to ensure proposals meet objectives for revenue and quality.
  • Lead and deliver successful consulting projects. This will include both coordination of others and timely production of your own quality research.
  • Undertake primary and secondary research using a range of methods, including proactive telephone-based investigations, deep dives at industry events, desk studies and detailed data analysis.
  • Write clear and effective reports that present all work and findings in an engaging and simple manner.
  • Attend client meetings and present at client offices and industry events
  • When applicable, feed learning back to the research team to ensure the continued relevance, quality, and completeness of market leading intelligence services.
  • Develop a personal network of relationships across the industry.

Remuneration

  • Full-time role.
  • Location: Can be office-based, hybrid or remote. If remote, regular office visits will be required.
  • Salary negotiable depending on experience (£40,000)
