Marine Cable Installation Specialist (Remote in UK) to £70k-£80k + Excellent benefits
Purpose of the role:
Our client are looking for a proactive, highly organised, Marine Cable Installation Specialist to join their team of route engineers. As a Marine Cable Installation specialist, you will work as a member of the route engineering team, seeing projects through from initial feasibility studies to marine survey and beyond the installation phase to maintenance and decommissioning. Your role is instrumental to ensure reliable and efficient service to clients developing power projects. By contributing to the installation process of worldwide power networks you will play a part in shaping the future of international infrastructure.Roles and Responsibilities:Installation Management Support:
- Conduct thorough review of documentation, schedule and reports.
- Technical contribution to EPC tender documentation
- Review vessel and burial tool suitability
- Liaise with installation contractor
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing results and recommendations.
- Client and contractor meetings ( HIRA & KOM etc.)
Route design engineering:
- Remedial cable protection planning and design
- BAS and CBRA overview
- Crossing design in conjunction with client and contractor
- Conduct cable burial reviews on existing assets
- Assist in conducting desktop feasibility studies
- Analyse bathymetric, geophysical, and geotechnical data to assess seabed conditions and potential hazards.
Obligations:
- Vessel, site, or client office visits.
- Maintain awareness of developments in submarine cable engineering principles, industry standards, and best practices.
- Attendance to exhibitions/conferences
- Attendance to exhibitions/conferences
- Assist with technical input for tendering Requirements
- Degree in Geoscience, engineering or related subject.
- Extensive experience with installation methods and tooling
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in the marine construction in particular cable or pipeline installation
- Excellent interpersonal skills both oral and written
- Proficiency in GIS and strong IT literacy skillsManages others: Yes (Not line management)Responsible for operating expense budget: YesDecision-making: Yes
Working Hours & Wages:
- 5 days per week
- £76 k per annum
