The stunning Feathers Hotel has 42 beautiful bedrooms and is situated in the town of Ludlow, there has been an extensive refurbishment to a high spec whilst maintaining the character of the Jacobian building. Our most recent celebration for the Feathers has been the awarding of a Rosette, the team are already paving the way to achieve the much sought after second Rosette!
TheSous Chefwith their team will provide a service to a bustling lounge and cocktail bar, restaurant and tearoom, as well rooms suitable for small meetings, conferences and private functions.
OurSous Chefwill have passion and commitment to quality, preparation & production of food, leading a team and have the autonomy to be part of creating a vison to deliver to a 2 AA Rosette standard.
The Role:
To work with the Head Chef to lead the kitchen in producing an exceptional food experience
To ensure all food hygiene and health & safety standards are adhered to.
You will have a passion for quality and service, have exceptional organisational skills and be able to work using your own initiative.
This is an ideal role for someone with great chef experience with an eye for detail & a passion for perfection.

Duties:
- Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations of the restaurant
- Oversee food preparation and ensure high-quality standards are met
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create and develop new menu items
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients and supplies
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Assist in planning and executing special events or catering functions
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a sous chef or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and food presentation
- Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operating hours
- Culinary degree or certification is preferred, but not required
