- Creating design solutions for AD plants including calculations, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams.
- Working closely with clients to capture requirements and translate them into practical design specs.
- Selecting pumps, valves, and instrumentation, and documenting all specifications using your knowledge of process engineering principles.
- Conducting and documenting site-based safety assessments in line with DSEAR regulations.
- Carrying out full site surveys, overseeing equipment installations, and supporting the successful commissioning of process systems.
- Contributing throughout the project lifecycle—from scoping and design through to build, install, and final testing.
- A degree in Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
- Previous experience in process engineering—preferably in anaerobic digestion, wastewater, or related sectors.
- A good grasp of instrumentation, pumping systems, and engineering drawings (AutoCAD 2D is useful).
- Confidence producing engineering calculations (e.g., head loss, pump sizing).
- The ability to create and interpret P&IDs and other technical documentation.
- Comfortability travelling to client sites (overnight stays on occasion, with all expenses covered).
- Strong communication skills with an interest in delivering sustainable engineering solutions.
