CNC Machinist

Salary: £27,000 to £30,720 plus healthcare and lots of overtime

Location: Ludlow, easily commutable from Hereford , Leominster, Shrewsbury , Bridgenorth , Knighton , Craven Arms

Hours: 37 per week Monday to Friday

Duration: Permanent

Exceptionally busy manufacturing company require an additional CNC Machinist due to a sustained upturn in business. Excellent opportunities for technical training up to programming level. You will be joining an experienced team of friendly, helpful machinists in a positive team environment.

The CNC Machinist Role:

  • The role will involve machining a wide variety of metallic components to high specification. Batches tend to be small to medium so theres lots of interest.

  • Using a variety of CNC lathes and mills.

  • Batch testing using micrometres, verniers etc.

  • Following detailed drawings and instruction.

  • Completing straightforward batch paperwork and reporting any issues to the Inspection team.

  • The role is based in a clean, well-ordered Workshop with state-of-the art machinery.

  • Great team atmosphere with good training and support for new or less experienced members of the Team.

  • Excellent opportunities for technical development or consideration for more advanced roles.

Skills/attributes required for The CNC Machinist role:

  • Experience of operating or setting of CNC lathes or mills in the production of precision metallic components.

  • Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.

  • Be able to solve issues regarding machining processes.

  • Be able to batch test using a variety of measuring devices such as verniers and micrometres. Report abnormalities to the Inspection team.

  • Work to tight quality standards (ISO 9001/2015) and to uphold safe practices.

  • Applicants who have been machinists , CNC machinists , toolmakers or similar at all levels are welcomed to apply.
