A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced full-time live-in Sole Gardener to maintain and develop a beautiful 5-acre garden in South Shropshire. The property features formal gardens, lawns, a substantial vegetable garden, and a large greenhouse, requiring a knowledgeable and hands-on professional to care for its year-round upkeep.

The role and responsibilities include maintaining and enhance formal gardens, including flower beds, borders, lawns, and hedges. Overseeing and managing the vegetable gardens, ensuring a steady supply of fresh produce throughout the year. Care for the large greenhouse, including propagation, planting, and maintenance of a wide range of plants. Conducting regular pruning, weeding, mulching, and pest management across the garden. Developing and implementing seasonal garden plans to maintain the garden’s visual appeal and productivity. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritise tasks as well as be physically fit and have the willingness to undertake outdoor work in all weather conditions. Applicants will have a proactive and flexible attitude and a flair for continuing to enhance the garden as required.

Accommodation is provided rent free - a newly renovated 2 bedroom (double) old granary in a separate courtyard with utilities paid by the employer. Partners welcome and pets to be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and competent Sole Gardener to work for friendly owners, and to take pride of a beautiful private estate garden in a beautiful part of the country.
