The Permanent Division of Robert Half is excited to be working exclusively and on a retained basis with Novoferm UK in Luton to assist with the recruitment of a Financial Controller during an exciting period of change and development for the business.

Novoferm in the UK is part of the wider Novoferm Europe Group, one of the leading system suppliers of high-quality doors, industrial doors, garage doors, frames and operators. Novoferm is ultimately part of the Sanwa Holdings Corporation, headquartered in Japan.

Novoferm serves the UK market in both the Residential sector (through Novoferm UK and The Garage Door Company) and the Industrial sector (through Robust UK, Horton Automatics and Bolton Gate Services).

The Role

The Financial Controller will support the Residential sector business units (Novoferm UK and The Garage Door Company) through analysis and benchmarking of their product pricing strategy, as well as having a deep understanding of their costing models to enable profit margin reporting / analysis and challenge the business to improve profitability.

This is a replacement role with an excellent opportunity to add value to the business in order to assist with continued and sustained development.

Day to day duties will consist of:

  • To act as a business partner to the Group Managing Director and the General Manager for GDC providing them with the information and analysis required to support in making strategic business decisions, and to challenge them to drive business improvements.
  • Work closely with the Management Accountants to manage all day to day bookkeeping requirements and full month end procedures, including bank reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, payroll (working with in-house group payroll officer), balance sheet reconciliations, etc
  • Oversee the Purchase Ledger and Credit Control functions, managing the performance of the team members responsible for these areas.
  • Manage all inventory control procedures and related analysis and reconciliations (inventory is spread across BGS depots, engineer vans and client sites)
  • Lead all FP&A activity including but not limited to:
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Rolling P&L forecast
  • Annual Budget
  • 3 Year Planning
  • Capital Expenditure Budgets and Forecasts
  • Internal and External Reporting including VAT returns, IFRS 16, monthly and quarterly p+l reporting, CIS returns and sales and profitability reporting
  • Ongoing development of the Microsoft Business Central system

Your Profile

You will be a Qualified Accountant with at least 5 years' experience in both management and financial accounting. If you have previous experience using Microsoft Business Central with some Manufacturing or Inventory based experience this would be an excellent fit. If you have extensive Manufacturing experience with strong all round systems exposure then this would also be considered. You must be self-motivated, able to act on own initiative and be able to communicate at all levels. This is an excellent role where development will be available as the business continues to change and develop.
