Accounts Assistant

Accounts Payable and Receivable:
-Process invoices, expense claims, and payment runs
- Reconcile supplier statements and handle discrepancies.
- Raise sales invoices and credit notes, ensuring timely receipt of payments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and supplier accounts.

Bank Reconciliations:
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
-Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.

General Ledger:
- Assist in maintaining the general ledger by posting journal entries and ensuring all accounts are correctly coded.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and prepayments.

Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
- Contribute to budget preparation and forecasting activities.
Profile
- AAT qualification or working towards it (or equivalent).
- Relevant accounting coursework or degree is desirable.
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within the retail or FMCG sector.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP) and strong Excel skills.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
