Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a Driver / Passenger Assistant on behalf of Luton Borough Council within their Passenger Transport Unit department. You will be working with the general public and transporting up to 16 passengers* at any one given time. You will need a D1 category on your driving licence. To be successful in this role you will need to have worked in a similar role previously.

About the Driver / Passenger Drivers:

  • Safely transport passengers to various locations across Luton
  • Create a safe, supportive atmosphere for passenger in line with safety guidelines
  • Ensure all safety checks are carried out in line with standard procedures
  • Check vehicles to ensure they are clean and fuelled appropriately
  • Report any incidents within the safety guidelines

About you :

  • Proficient communicator in English
  • It is essential you hold a clean driving licence with category D1.
  • Experience of driving larger vehicles and understand basic maintenance - basic training will be provided
  • Confident with members of the general public
  • Be able to lift items such as wheelchairs and buggy equipment
  • For insurance purposes drivers must be over the age of 23

This position requires Enhanced DBS check.
