A market-leading £1 billion UK manufacturing and distribution group is looking for a motivated Business Development Manager to join their dynamic team in Luton. You will be pivotal in driving sales through strategic marketing and promotional efforts, focusing on developing key accounts for long-term success. This is an exciting hybrid role where you'll split your time between internal sales (3 days per week) and external client visits (2 days per week).The business you'll be joining is a leading manufacturer and distributor of electrical and lighting products belonging to a global group of companies who employ over 1,700 people throughout the UK. They are a well-established business with a fantastic reputation and are a key supplier to the UK electrical wholesale and electrical contractor market.Role Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy Development: Create and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to meet business objectives and sales forecasts within the trade channel. Focus on key customer groups and initiatives like new product launches, market trends, promotions, and competitor activity to maximise opportunities.
  • Promotional Campaign Management: Lead and execute promotional campaigns, ensuring effective follow-up sales activities.
  • Account Management & Growth: Build and maintain strong relationships with both existing and new key customer accounts. Work closely with these customers to identify their needs and opportunities for mutually beneficial, profitable growth.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Accurately forecast and plan sales activity, reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress and meet targets.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments to ensure seamless communication and support across all areas of the business, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.

  • The ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and prioritise tasks effectively
