They are currently seeking an experienced and driven Territory Manager to join a leading global player in the heavy equipment industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established market leader and drive the growth of their operations across a key region in the UK.Job Title: Territory Manager – Heavy Equipment SalesLocation: Cambridge, Luton, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Northampton Salary: Up to £45,000 + Uncapped Bonus Scheme + BenefitsAbout the roleAs an Territory Manager, you will play a pivotal role in business development, driving sales, and fostering relationships with key customers within the heavy equipment sector. This is a 100% business development-focused role, where your primary responsibility will be to source and engage new clients, create long-term relationships, and drive sales within the construction, agriculture, crane, truck, and trailer sectors.You will have the opportunity to manage your own diary. Your time will be spent visiting customers and generating new business. Your key focus will be on identifying potential clients, building rapport and creating opportunities for the company’s services and solutions.Key Responsibilities of the Territory Manager
  • Business Development: Proactively identify and engage new customers within the construction and heavy equipment sectors.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring strong customer satisfaction.
  • Sales Execution: Effectively manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to closing deals, and ensure sales targets are consistently met.
  • Field Visits: Regularly visit clients in the field to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions, Covering Cambridge, Luton, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Northampton
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure the seamless delivery of services to customers.
Key Competencies of Territory Manager
  • Hunter-Gatherer Mentality: A highly driven and resilient individual, not afraid to "knock on doors" and build new business opportunities from scratch.
  • Proven Sales Track Record: Experience in buying/selling heavy equipment or working in the end-user market (construction, agriculture, etc.).
  • Strong Industry Knowledge: An understanding of the heavy equipment market and ideally knowledge of selling to end users or working with service providers (finance, parts, machines, insurance, etc.).
  • Excellent Communication: Able to liaise effectively with both internal stakeholders and senior external clients.
  • Resilient and Determined: Positive, optimistic, and goal-oriented approach to sales and relationship building.
  • Experience in the heavy equipment or construction sector, with a strong understanding of the end-user market.
  • Background in business development, sales, or account management, with a proven track record of hitting targets and building lasting relationships.
  • Familiarity with auction-based sales processes and a passion for driving new business.
