Civil Project Manager (HV)

Toro Recruitment is searching for a civil project Manager to join a DNO / ICP based in London. Our client is expanding its team and seeks a dedicated individual with proven project management experience in the Power Distribution sector.

As a civil project Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery of projects within a portfolio of works, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The civil project Manager will play a crucial role in managing these projects from start to finish.

The project consists of the excavation of utility trenches, utility maintenance/upgrades/connections, and backfill and reinstatement. We are looking for candidates who can manage this entire process and have knowledge of the Power sector from a DNO / ICP / IDNO background.

Responsibilities of the Civils Project Manager will include:

  • Leading and managing project teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Developing project plans, timelines, and budgets in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Monitoring project progress and identifying potential risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and quality standards throughout project execution.
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain effective communication and resolve any project-related issues.
  • Managing project finances, including cost control, budget monitoring, and financial reporting.
  • Providing regular project updates and reports to stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Overseeing the procurement of materials and services necessary for project execution.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the Power Distribution sector.
  • A background in civil engineering or electrical engineering, either through education or hands-on experience.
  • Knowledge of HSG47, Streetworks, and Highways work.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to manage project budgets and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in project planning and management tools and software (MS Projects or equivalent).

What this position offers:

  • Competitive salary: 60,000-70,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
  • Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week.
  • Probation period: 3 months.
  • Company vehicle or allowance: 500 per month.
  • Holiday entitlement: 33 days (inclusive of public/bank holidays).
