Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students who may have behavioural and emotional challenges in a nurturing and safe environment.
  • Assist with delivering tailored lesson plans and one-to-one support to students.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging engagement and participation.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and provide emotional support to students as they work through difficulties.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure students' individual learning needs are met.
  • Monitor students' progress and report any concerns to the relevant staff.
  • Support students during non-lesson times, including lunch and break periods, ensuring their well-being.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A passion for working with young people, especially those who may face challenging behaviours or emotional difficulties.
  • Experience working with students in a PRU, alternative education, or similar setting (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students who may have complex needs.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A background in psychology, criminology, or education is an advantage, but not essential.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing needs.
