A role has arisen for a Commercial Financial Analyst to join a large complex business based in Bedfordshire. This role offers excellent progression and hybrid working options.
Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing financial guidance and challenge to business decisions.
- Collaborate with commercial teams on budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Analyse and interpret financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support the development and implementation of commercial strategies and initiatives.
- Conduct detailed analysis of product profitability, pricing, promotions, and customer performance.
- Evaluate new business opportunities, including product launches and market expansions.
- Assess the financial impact of marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
- Monitor and analyse competitor activity and market trends.
- Prepare monthly management reports, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls within the commercial function.
- Implement best practices in financial reporting and analysis.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a commercial finance role within the FMCG industry.
- Strong understanding of financial and management accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial modelling.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
