Accounts Payable Manager
  • Location: Luton, 
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9AM - 5PM. 5x a week in the office for 6 months then after probation 1 day WFH

My exciting new client is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join their team. This person will play a pivotal role in managing their accounts payable function. Overseeing a team of six assistants, ensuring accurate and timely payment of their supplier base in accordance with group and entity policies. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage and create new supplier accounts and master creditors in line with group policy.
  • Ensure supplier invoices are scanned, distributed, processed, and allocated for authorisation on their in house accounting system
  • Handle monthly supplier statement reconciliations and resolve any account anomalies.
  • Ensure timely closure of purchase ledger at month-end to meet management accounts deadlines.
  • Lead your team effectively, conducting regular one-to-one reviews, annual appraisals, and ensuring compliance with internal audits.
  • Undertake ad-hoc analysis and projects to support business needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, leading and managing a team within a medium to large company.
  • Strong background in an Accounts Payable function.
  • Proficient with accounting systems and intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables and V-lookups.
  • Initiative and ability to influence change through an investigative and proactive approach to all tasks.
  • Resilience and capability to work in an organisation undergoing change due to development and growth.
