My exciting new client is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join their team. This person will play a pivotal role in managing their accounts payable function. Overseeing a team of six assistants, ensuring accurate and timely payment of their supplier base in accordance with group and entity policies.
Day-to-day of the role:- Manage and create new supplier accounts and master creditors in line with group policy.
- Ensure supplier invoices are scanned, distributed, processed, and allocated for authorisation on their in house accounting system
- Handle monthly supplier statement reconciliations and resolve any account anomalies.
- Ensure timely closure of purchase ledger at month-end to meet management accounts deadlines.
- Lead your team effectively, conducting regular one-to-one reviews, annual appraisals, and ensuring compliance with internal audits.
- Undertake ad-hoc analysis and projects to support business needs.
- Proven experience in a similar role, leading and managing a team within a medium to large company.
- Strong background in an Accounts Payable function.
- Proficient with accounting systems and intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables and V-lookups.
- Initiative and ability to influence change through an investigative and proactive approach to all tasks.
