Finance ManagerSalary to £38KAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join the central finance team of a growing Multi-Academy Trust (MAT). This role is essential in ensuring strong financial management and communication between schools and the Trust’s central finance function.As Finance Manager, you will oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for multiple academies within the Trust, working closely with school leaders and senior finance teams to ensure resources are effectively managed.The ideal candidate for this role will be experienced in Education, Public or Not for Profit sector.   Please note that you will be expected to travel to school sites as and when the role needs.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the annual budgeting process.
  • Produce accurate monthly financial reports, perform variance analysis, and provide recommendations.
  • Conduct monthly re-forecasting, identifying financial risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with academy leaders, advising on financial decisions and best practices.
  • Ensure all financial activities comply with regulations, policies, and audit requirements.
  • Implement best practices and drive efficiencies in financial processes.
  • Oversee payroll accuracy and sales ledger invoices.
The ideal candidate:Essential:
  • Strong experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Is Part or Fully Qualified.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations, auditing, and compliance in the education or public sector.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
Desirable:
  • Experience in multi-academy trusts or education finance.
  • Knowledge of grant funding management.
  • Experience in payroll oversight and financial policies implementation.
