Reed Practice are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Private Client Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager to join our clients office based in the Luton area. This role is integral to supporting their ambitious growth plans and will focus on managing a portfolio of private client matters, with a particular emphasis on advisory work and report writing.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Provide expert advisory services in Inheritance Tax, Estate Planning, Trusts, International tax matters, and other high-level private client tax issues.
  • Work closely with the Tax Partner to maximise fee income, supervise work in progress, and manage billing for the department.
  • Draft detailed reports and deliver comprehensive advice to clients, ensuring clarity and relevance.
  • Take ownership of projects, delegate effectively within the team, and maintain responsibility for quality control.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and team members.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Holds a relevant professional qualification such as CTA (or equivalent) with substantial experience in private client tax advisory services.
  • Demonstrates broad and strong technical tax knowledge, especially in Inheritance Tax, Estate Planning, Trusts, and International tax matters.
  • Proficient in report writing, capable of providing detailed and high-quality advice to clients.
  • Excellent client handling skills, including written and presentation abilities.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing team members.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects, delegate effectively, and ensure quality control.
  • Capable of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, organised, and methodical.
  • Strong numerical abilities and the capacity to work as part of a wider team.
