Job Title: Insights & Analysis - Business Analyst -EPM

The ambition, size and complexity of the organisation, coupled with the opportunities afforded by new technology, has led the Board to approve a large-scale transformation programme - Axial.Axial will be powered by S/4HANA a new Enterprise Resource Planning system which will be implemented across the organisation. We will be transforming the way we work through our entire supply chain, from bench to patient.
The new system will be used by more than 20,000 employees daily and will be central to most core business processes. This is a once in a generation programme for AstraZeneca and will shape our ways of working globally.
The Axial Insights & Analysis team is leading the roadmap and delivery of analytics and AI delivery from an end-user perspective.
What you will do:

  • Collaborate with multiple business teams and senior leaders within Finance groups, to gather requirements, existing challenges and business opportunities. This will involve proactively running workshops, interviews, surveys etc.
  • Produce demo material and art of the possible material to give our users and stakeholders a vision of the future.
  • Work with IT and business teams to stress test our architectural assumptions.
  • Lead the integration of analytics and AI into business processes, where possible automating decision making.
  • Be engaged in data management work such as: design of an analytics catalogue, promoting data literacy, participating in analytics governance forums and being the champion for citizen data services.
  • Prepare material, tools, sample data, and processes for Fit-2-Standard workshops.
  • Contribute to the analytics and AI operating model.
  • Identify learning and development needs.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong business analysis experience and knowledge of analytics
  • Clear communications
  • Strong stakeholder experience required in engaging internal & external stakeholders
  • Considerable exposure to ECC finance reporting especially in CCA PCA CO-PA PS
  • Experience in one or more full S/4 HANA implementation cycles
  • Experience in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) reporting Stories
  • Experience in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Planning use


Technical or configurations skills are not required for this position. It is a hands-off role involving no technical configuration.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in other Financial planning tools like SAP BPC ,Hyperion, Anaplan and business planning cycle of long-term planning & mid-term planning
  • Jira
  • Bio-Tech, Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences experience
