We are currently recruiting a National Support Engineer to join the technical engineering team at Nationwide Platforms covering the South Region.

As National Support Engineer you will be supporting the depot engineering network and local management within specified geography in the management of engineering activity and engineering related performance, with a focus on equipment that is categorised as Big Kit.

Your main duties will include servicing, maintaining and fault finding any parts of the Powered Access fleet across the South of England

Responsibilities include:

  • Be an ambassador for and ensure compliance of Quality, Health & Safety standards and policies
  • Ensure continuous improvement in all engineering standards by mentoring engineering staff, including apprentices
  • Support engineering staff on technical matters to achieve all time bound objectives and quality standards
  • React to engineering incidents or issues that may arise within areas of responsibility
  • Liaise closely with senior management on reducing and saving costs with external parts and service providers when required
  • Ensure that all inspections of machines are in conformance with manufacturer's specification, company policy and the regulations affecting the use. Ensure that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine. Notify the appropriate manager of any serious defect or unsafe equipment as required
  • Act as an ambassador for the company, providing a high standard of customer care and being polite at all times. Relay appropriate customer queries to depot staff as required
  • Maintain high levels of personal appearance, ensuring uniform and personal protective equipment are used correctly
  • Maintain high standard of quality and compliance of all engineering paperwork
  • Support the Location/Workshop Service Manager and Senior Service Engineer in the effective running of maintenance operations

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • IPAF Operator Licence
  • Driving Licence
  • IPAF Demonstrator Licence
  • NQV2 or equivalent
  • Presents themselves and their company vehicle (if applicable) in an acceptable and tidy manner
  • The ability to rise to a challenge or change, resolve conflict and find a successful way forward
  • The power to use technical knowledge, experience and interpersonal skills to gain the agreement and respect of others
  • The ability to clarify goals and objectives to work to an agreed pattern of output and to prioritise tasks and activities
  • The ability to work in such a way that maintains and improves business processes and structure
  • Ability to use basic functions of the operating system (L-Vis) to complete tasks relevant to role
  • Ability to complete basic company administration processes in line with role
  • Use all equipment, tools and PPE as prescribed in a safe and proper manner
  • Ability to communicate with internal or external customers to resolve issues or queries satisfactorily
