Senior Child Care Solicitor

A highly respected law firm, ranked by The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners UK for its expertise in child care law, is seeking a Senior Child Care Solicitor to join their specialised Child Care Department. The department is known for handling all aspects of child care law, including child protection, adoption, child abduction, and more.

Location: LutonRole: Senior Child Care Solicitor (Supervisory & Technical Expertise)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct Report: Department Director
  • Team Leadership: Manage and supervise Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors, and Caseworkers, overseeing a range of child care cases with varying complexities.
  • Client Care: Provide high-quality legal guidance, manage your own caseload, and engage in advocacy.
  • Training & Development: Support the department's growth by delivering key training and development initiatives.
  • Business Development: Actively engage in networking and marketing to generate new business opportunities.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
  • Clean, Valid Practising Certificate
  • Desirable: Law Society and Children Panel Membership
  • Strong Management Skills with proven supervisory experience.
  • Team Player who fosters a positive culture and encourages cross-referrals.
  • Experience in Child Care Law with expertise in adoption, child protection, and related matters.
  • Excellent Communication & Networking Skills to drive business development.
  • Experience in Advocacy is an advantage.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
