JOB: Criminal Duty Solicitor SALARY: DOEA well-established firm based in LutonSummary of role- Handling a varied caseload of private and legal aid funded criminal defence cases- Representing clients from initial caution through to case conclusion- Dealing with ranging matters from police caution through to Magistrates / Crown CourtMain tasks and responsibilities- Manage a range of criminal cases, including traffic matters, serious violence, murder, sexual offences, fraud, and public order and dishonesty- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing commercially viable advice and support- Provide representation in court, ensuring the best possible outcome for clients- Work collaboratively with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services- To ensure confidentiality of the firm's and clients' documents and information, maintaining the highest standard of client care.Personal skills and attributes- Qualified Criminal Solicitor with current practising certificate - 2 years PQE+*- Duty Solicitor status- An exceptional grasp of criminal law and procedure.- Proficiency in organising tasks and adhering to deadlines.- Ability to offer quality counsel to clients.- A capacity to work efficiently while maintaining a flexible approach.- Professional and pleasant with the strong communication skills- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently- Self-motivated and proactive to identify problems and find solutions- Able to give and receive constructive feedback, working effectively as part of a team- Flexible, adaptable and agile and able to manage unexpected changes to workload- Able to prioritise and manage time effectively- Active in promoting the Firm's services, image, values and ethos
