Service Engineer

Reed Engineering are supporting a great, local business who are looking for a dedicated Service Engineer to join their team. This role involves carrying out installations, servicing machines, and performing both mechanical and electrical assembly in line with company procedures. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Carry out installations and service of machines as required.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly according to company procedures.
  • Conduct machine testing and ensure all related documentation is completed and filed.
  • Handle component modifications with approval from Engineering when encountering new challenges.
  • Assemble machinery using components from specifically picked kits and return all unused parts to Stores.
  • Assist with Bill of Materials (BOM) amendments by completing forms and inspect components/sub-assemblies before assembly.
  • Participate in customer trials as requested.
  • Report directly to the Assembly Team Leader.
  • Undergo additional training as directed by supervisors.
  • Assist with general maintenance of the factory and packing of machines, ensuring they are in suitable condition.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy workspace at all times.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in mechanical and electrical assembly, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of assembly procedures and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to undergo further training and adapt to new processes.
