Role details:
Our client, a prominent player in the Defence and Security sector, is seeking a Lead Configuration Engineer to join their team on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
You will lead the following 5 key Configuration Management activities across project lifecycles:
- Change Control: Lead the Change Control process, from change initiation to implementation.
- Configuration Status Accounting: Provide accurate configuration status reports and maintain configuration baselines.
- Configuration Baselines: Establish and manage configuration baselines for product design and certification.
- Configuration Management Planning: Develop and manage the Configuration Management Plan, interpreting customer requirements.
- Configuration Audits: Support the Configuration Lead in validating and auditing configuration artefacts (Functional and Physical Configuration Audits).
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective Configuration and Data Management across various stages of projects.
- Challenge processes and tailor them to fit the project's lifecycle phase.
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure the project dataset is maintained and controlled.
- Build and manage customer and supplier relationships.
- Promote the use of PLM tools (e.g., Teamcenter, SAP) and engineering tools.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with the 5 key Configuration Management activities (Change Control, Status Accounting, Baselines, Planning, and Audits).
- Good understanding of Configuration Management standards (DEF STAN 05-57).
- Practical experience in Change Management, Configuration Baselines, and Configuration Audits.
- Knowledge of Product Management Tools (e.g., Teamcenter, SAP) is a plus.
- Strong administration skills and attention to detail.
