Dunbar Education is excited to partner with a thriving, centrally located primary school in Luton and is looking to welcome an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to our team. This role requires an experienced teacher ready to take on full planning and teaching responsibilities, delivering high-quality education and fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. The school is looking for a Year 2 teacher full-time from January, for the Spring term and potentially the summer term as well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging lessons tailored to Year 2 students.
  • Attendance at weekly staff training on Tuesdays and team meetings on Wednesdays after school is essential.
  • Create engaging and impactful lessons aligned with the National Curriculum to meet the diverse needs of Year 2 learners.
  • Regularly evaluate students' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their ongoing development.
  • Cultivate a respectful, inclusive environment that promotes positive relationships and collaboration among students.
  • Work effectively with teaching assistants and other team members to ensure all students receive the support they need.
  • Maintain open and supportive communication with families, keeping them informed of their child's progress and well-being.
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour and encourage a positive, welcoming classroom culture.
  • Attend staff meetings, engage in training sessions, and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Actively contribute to the school community and support broader initiatives within the school.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
  • Must be available for a face-to-face interview.
  • Previous experience teaching in a primary setting, ideally with Year 2 students.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the National Curriculum and early years education.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to effective collaboration and communication.
  • An adaptable, innovative approach to teaching to meet students' varied learning needs.
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
