School Finance Assistant TEMP

My client is seeking a School Finance Assistant to join their finance team, providing essential support to ensure the smooth operation of financial procedures and systems. The role involves working closely with the Business, Finance and Operations Manager to maintain a safe and positive learning environment for their students.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Support the operation, maintenance, and development of the school’s financial procedures and systems.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to financial processes where appropriate.
  • Resolve student and parent queries regarding school trips, dinner money, and other e-payment issues.
  • Record and manage petty cash, ensuring funds are replenished as needed.
  • Provide general support to the Business and Operations Manager, including handling mail and answering telephone queries.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • GCSE English and Maths grades A-C or equivalent.
  • Experience in a financial role within a school or similar environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency with financial and other IT packages
  • High standard of numeracy and excellent organisation and planning skills.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge and commitment to Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, and safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in the education sector.
