Role OverviewWe're looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join a high-achieving secondary school in Luton. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated educator to inspire students in their understanding of RE at Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 based on experience. This role involves delivering engaging lessons that foster critical thinking, reflection, and a deeper understanding of religious beliefs and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching: Deliver RE lessons at KS3 and KS4, with the potential for KS5 teaching for experienced candidates.
  • Lesson Planning: Design innovative and engaging lessons that align with the RE curriculum, making the subject both exciting and accessible.
  • Student Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development and exam readiness.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the Humanities Department to continually enhance the RE curriculum, integrating best practices and contemporary debates.
  • School Engagement: Actively participate in department meetings, contribute to the school's initiatives, and support a positive and collaborative school culture.

Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a degree in Religious Education, Theology, or a related field. Experience teaching RE at KS3 and KS4 is essential, and experience at KS5 is desirable. You should be passionate about RE, able to foster meaningful discussions, and committed to helping students succeed in their personal and academic development.
