Role: Deputy Team Manager (DTM) MASH

Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a Deputy Team Manager (DTM) MASH on behalf of Luton Borough Council within their Children, Families and Education department.
Main purpose of position:
To work alongside the Team Manager to lead the team. Line managing, supporting and coaching a team including ASYE's, Social Workers and Senior Practitioners.
As a Deputy Team Manager,you will be responsible to:
- Work closely with the Team manager in managing in the day to day operations of the team.
- Prevent the separation of children from their families whenever possible and appropriate.
- Ensure children and young people reach their full potential and have equal access to services available.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team through using managerial performance data (KPI's).
- Develop, support, coach, train and motivate staff to deliver and maintain excellent standards of social work practice, carrying out effective Check-In's, having regular supervision meetings.
- Use advanced professional knowledge, skills, experience and your initiative to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding in accordance.
- Liaise with partner agency representatives in order to promote multi agency working on plans for children and their families
Skills and Experience
- In-depth post qualifying experience including in - depth experience in the field of child and family social work .
- Able to assist the Team Manager in managing, motivating and developing a social services team.
- Able to develop and maintain effective administrative and organisational procedures.
- Able to lead and chair multi- disciplinary meetings.
- Able to negotiate and influence service users, staff at all levels, elected members and other professional both internal and external.
- Knowledge of current legislation, national guidance and best practice relevant to the post.
